Nurudeen Elegbede (Chairman)

Nurudeen Elegbede is the NCA New Brunswick President. He brings a unique combination of leadership skills, and a deep commitment to community service and development. He possesses a genuine passion for community growth and social change. He decided to channel his expertise and skills towards making a positive impact on the community he calls family. His leadership style is characterized by transparency, integrity, and a collaborative spirit that empowers others to actively contribute and make a difference.

Education: Nurudeen earned a MSc. in Applied Cybersecurity and MEng. in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, both from the prestigious University of New Brunswick, Canada, MSc. in Computer Science from Texas Southern University, USA, and a BSc. In Computer Science from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria. 

Career: Nurudeen is an accomplished Senior Business Analyst with a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives, delivering exceptional results, and leading teams to success. Having navigated various industries and leadership roles in government, telecommunication, Insurance, education and manufacturing. His specialized skills encompass a range of areas vital for effective leadership, including Hands-on experience with managing and configuring complex enterprise applications and ability to recognize business critical issues, design and implement professional strategizes for prompt and feasible solutions.

Olutoyin Oyebola (Vice-Chairperson)

Olutoyin Oyebola is the NCA Lethbridge President . Toyin is a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful young ladies. She can be described as an exotic mix of different continents. Born and raised in Nigeria. Toyin’s passion for the vulnerable population motivated her career change from Computer Science to Public Health. Her passion for relationship building and community engagement is second to none and is evident in the way she conducts her business. Toyin is also dedicated/committed to mentoring adolescent and young adult immigrants, especially among the young international students. Having once been an international student herself, She understands their struggles and challenges, especially regarding adaptation to their new community.

Career: She is successful entrepreneur, and a licensed Independent Financial Advisor who provides financial coaching, mentorship, investment services, and various Insurance products. She founded this to provide role modelling, mentorship and to enable capacity building for young black kids as they navigate through elementary and high school. Toyin handles social or corporate events as MC (Master of Ceremonies). Her charisma and social abilities are her very strong qualities.

Clare Ezekobe (Public Relations Officer)

Clare Ezekobe is the NCA London and Area Ontario President. She is known for leading with heart and serving with purpose, as seen in her unrelenting efforts to move the Nigerian brand to greater heights. She is a constant brand ambassador for being the change you seek and believes that our greatest strength lies in our unique blend of diversity.

Education: Clare has a unique educational background, from across multiple countries. Biochemistry, Marriage, Education and Family counselling, Education, Junior IT Analyst, Project Management, Addiction and Community Support Work; from our prestigious Queen’s College, Lagos Nigeria, to the renowned University of Lagos in Nigeria, and across the Atlantic to Spain, UK and Canada.

Career: Clare is an Immigrant Employment Support Professional, severing in various other capacities, across multiple spaces. Her work spans across providing tailored support to newcomers to Canada to help them settle in their professional careers, and she volunteers across board in various community and city initiatives. Her watch word as the Public Relations Officer of the Official Nigerian Association for Canada is ‘Come and discover the Giant of Africa.

Margaret Nwosu (Financial Secretary)

Margaret Nwosu is the NCA GTA. She works tirelessly in support of the community and society at large, always going the extra mile and beyond to support and help whenever called upon. Margaret seats on the board of many organizations and in many advisory councils of agencies, programs and committees. Through her influence, has a youth’s support program/initiative in Nigeria where youths are supported both in education, trades and empowerment. She is a very resilient woman is always in support of others and continuous development of resilience, growth and strength.

Margaret is gifted with leadership qualities and utilizes this gift by contributing her quota to the development of our Nigerian community, support for the vulnerable and mentoring of our young women.

Education:

Margaret holds BSc in Mass Communication from Lagos State University and a Diploma in Public Relations from then Nigerian Institute of Journalism and worked as a project manager with Empress Magazine

Here in Canada, Margaret attended York University where she obtained Degree in Social Work (BSW), holds Diploma in Social Services Worker from Humber College (SSW) and registered under Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, (OCSWSSW). Margaret also has a Diploma Certificate in Immigration Consultant from Humber College.

Fred Solomon (General Secretary)

Fred Solomon is the current President of the Nigerian Canadian Association of Saskatoon (NCAS). He brings a wealth of leadership experience, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an unwavering dedication to community development. With a heart for service and a clear vision for progress, Fred has consistently demonstrated his commitment to empowering the Nigerian-Canadian community. His leadership journey within NCAS includes serving as Public Relations Officer (PRO), Vice President, and now as President — a role in which he continues to foster unity, accountability, and sustainable impact.

Education: Fred holds a background in Information Technology and financial education, with professional certifications that span both the tech and financial services sectors. He is a licensed financial expert in both Canada and the USA and continues to expand his knowledge through ongoing training and mentorship.

Career: Fred is a seasoned IT professional, an accomplished entrepreneur, and a certified wealth manager. With years of experience across multiple industries, he has built and managed diverse income streams, mentored young professionals, and led major projects. His business acumen, combined with a passion for giving back, positions him as a transformative leader in both corporate and community spaces.
